Mrs. Thelma P. Mason, secretary at the Baptist Sunday School Board in Nashville, TN. Mrs. Mason was born in 1922 in Pittsburg as one of sixteen children. She graduated from the University of Pittsburg and moved to Nashville in the 1960s with her then husband and Alabama native, Tessie Mason. Mrs. Mason is credited for starting the first business school for Blacks in Nashville called the Mason Business School (22nd Ave North, Heiman St, North Nashville).  Mason School of Business was built for blacks to learn business skills after Mrs. Mason personally faced discrimination in the industry.
