The RVRO program in Jamaica, Queens New York is open to boys and girls. Children from 10-years-old to 16-years-old are encouraged to participate.  Competitors play "Rucker" style elimination rounds until there is a championship team winner.  Kids receive medals and/or gold plated basketball trophies for their achievements.

The basketball program began at Rochdale Village in the 1980’s, but later became inactive. In the summer of 2017, the popular initiative experienced a resurgence after 2nd Vice President of the Board of Directors and Youth Planning Committee Chairman Mario Turner along with board of directors member Gary Hawkins, approached James Ryan, the original organizer of RVRO, about bringing the program back at Rochdale.
