Rochdale Village opened its doors as the first integrated housing cooperative in 1963 and the second largest housing cooperative in the world. Based in Jamaica Queens New York, this residential co-op is best known for its sprawling green grounds, park-like setting and independent power plant. Inspired by the spirit of diversity, this housing cooperative faced many challenges and continues to experience many accomplishments.  The corporation celebrated its 50th Anniversary on December 10, 2013 and continues to thrive.
